JAMMU: President, National Mazdoor Conference (NMC), Subash Shastri on Sunday urged the Chairman of the Seventh Pay Commission to recommend that 20 per cent interim relief be given to all Central and State Government employees and pensioners and merger of 50 per cent DA into basic pay/ pension adding that these recommendations in interim report be submitted to the Central Government.
Shastri emphasised that whenever the recommendation of the commission are submitted to the Central Government, the commission should extend these recommendations to the state governments in general and Jammu and Kashmir in particular.
In addition to these, the NMC has also reiterated its previous demands for raising the retirement age to 62 and regularizations of the services of all daily wagers besides 50 per cent DA merger.
Shastri said that Seventh Pay Commission has sought the cooperation of all the federations unions since it has to submit a complete report to the government within 14 months. The NMC has advised their affiliate unions to hurry with their opinions, demands and their views on the implementation of Seventh CPC. Attention is now being channelised to draft suggestions and demands that include all thoughts and views, he added.
