‘Recognise Pvt schools on SRO 259 of 1995 basis’

JAMMU: A meeting of Private Schools Association was held under the chairmanship of its President Kamal Gupta here on Monday.
In the meeting, all members appreciated the efforts of Director School Education Jammu Simrandeep Singh for his efforts in streamlining the functioning of private schools by disposing of all pending cases submitted by the Private schools for recognition/permission since 2007 to till date.
President Kamal Gupta said that recognition, permission cases of Private schools up to class 8th are pending due to SRO 123 of 2010 as some clauses of this SRO 123 for the school in particular is unjust and even not needed by as per norm fixed for AICTE.
He said all private functioning up to High and Higher Secondary schools in the State were granted recognition time to time and why schools up to 8th std. were ignored by the authorities is no known by the schools owners/ Principals till date.
All members unanimously demanded that all schools should be given recognition on the bases of previous SRO 259 of 1995 as most of the schools have been established before the commencement of new SRO 123.
Ajay Gupta State coordinator PSA J&K appealed to the Director School Education to issue clear cut instructions to all CEO’s whom he has ordered for the conduct of fresh inspection all pending cases upto 8th std not to harass the private schools which are being run by the unemployed educated youth who are working very hard to run their livelihood by charging meager amount and totally dependent on the private schools.
The prominent persons who attended the meeting include Raja Shazad Ahmed Magral from Poonch, Mohd Roqyaz Khan from Mender, Ajay Singh Kotwal I/C Reasi, Laddi Kumar from Katra, R.P Sharma from Udhampur and Bilal Ahmed from Mandi.
