NEW DELHI: Rajeev Sharma, Chairman and Managing Director of Rural Electrification Corporation Limited (REC), a Navratna Public Sector Undertaking under Ministry of Power, presented RTGS credit advice towards payment of Interim Dividend for the Financial Year 2015-16, amounting to Rs.718.52 crore on the shareholding of Government of India in REC to Piyush Goyal, Minister of State for Power (Independent Charge) on Tuesday.
P.K Pujari, Secretary, Dr. Arun Kumar Verma, Joint Secretary and senior officials of REC were also present on the occasion.
Further, for the nine months ended 31st December, 2015, the company sanctioned new projects of Rs.49,262 crore and disbursed Rs. 34,031 crore to various power sector borrowers.
During the said period, the company recorded a PBT of Rs. 6272.52 crore and PAT of Rs. 4467.63 crore, thereby registering a year to year growth of 9 per cent and 7 per cent respectively.
