RDD, PR employees urge government to fulfill demands
POONCH: A meeting of RDD and PR Employees Federation District Poonch was held under the chairmanship of Ajeet Singh Jeet, President of the Association in which large number of employees of Rural Dev. Department Poonch participated. The meeting was held on the directions of Convener All J and K RDD and PR Employees Federation Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, President of the forum Ajeet Singh Jeet said, “government should remove stagnation among VLWs/MPWs and provide them promotion avenues as being done in case of Panchayat Inspector as BDOs. Many VLWs are working in the department for the last 25 to 30 years and not provided with promotion and its a gross injustice as many of them are graduates and post graduates. We stressed upon the government to create 177 posts of Inspectors Panchayats. Moreover 50 per cent quota should be filled from within the department and not from outside else we will strongly oppose”.
The members also opposed to the government order in which the Govt has created post of BDO, SO (Planning), AAO (Finance), AE (R&B), two posts of Junior Assistants/ Computer Operators, leaving aside the posts RDD and PR that is Inspector Panchayat, Senior Assistant, Head Clerk, Work Supervisor and JE.
The members said that Rural Dev Minister was keen to make Panchayat Inspectors as BDO but the said proposal was opposed by Chief Secretary. Khursheed Ahmed President MPW Association appealed to the members to work with association to fight for their rights.
Those who spoke on the occasion included Mohd. Afzal, Yugal Raina, Abrar Hussain, Mohd Jameel, Qasim Ali, Ibrahim, Mohd Razak, Mandeer Kour, Aftab Ahmed and Sanjay Kumar General Secretary.
Meanwhile, All Jammu and Kashmir Multi Purpose Worker Union Rural Development Department Jammu Province decided to hold a one day protest rally in the front of Directorate Office Jammu. This was stated by State General Secretary of the Union Rakesh Sharma.
He said that Union has decided to protest against Government oder in which Govt. has created six posts of officer in new CD Blocks and lacking behind the main post of Inspector Panchayat, Senior Assistant, Junior Engineer, Work Supervisor and Helper.
Similarly, a meeting of the Rural Development Department and Panchyati Raj (RDD&PR) was held under the chairmanship of Ram Murti Sharma at Udhampur here in Udhampur in which federation extended full support on call given call given by the State Body of RDD and PR Federation to hold protest on Aug.29, 2014 outside the office of the Directorate of Rural Development Jammu.
