RCV Club wins Martyrs Memorial Volleyball trophy

HIRANAGAR: RCV Club Bari Brahmana won the Martyrs Memorial Open Volleyball Tournament organized by Volleyball Club Kootah Hiranagar at volleyball grounds, Ram Lila Club, Kootah here.
In the final played on Sunday, RCV Club Bari Brahmana defeated Volleyball Club (Team A) Kootah by 3-1 (25-23, 25-21, 25-27, 25-20).
Winner team was given Rs 11,000 whereas runner-up was awarded Rs 6,100 along with respective trophies.
Anil of RCV Bari Brahmana was declared Man of the Series whereas Abhi of Kootah was Man of the Match and were awarded with Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 respectively. In the valedictory function, Tilak Raj Bhardwaj DySP was the Chief Guest and Madan Lal Toofan President District Volleyball Association Kathua was presiding officer.
“The tournament was held in memory of Shiv Sangra and Mukesh Sangra, who attained martyrdom at Police Station Hiranagar while fighting terrorists,” said Keshav Sharma, a veteran player of Koota and organiser.
Prominent persons present on the occasion were Mohinder Sharma, General Secretary, Ram Lal Sharma Joint Secretary, Kant Kumar, Vijay Tagotra and Yogesh Singh ex-Sarpanchs, Amit Sangra SHO Billawar, Rajiv Thappa, Surinder Sharma Chief Town Planner (Retd) and Ashok Sangra.
