Ration kept rotting during Congress rule, children of poor used to die of hunger: Chugh
STATE TIMES NEWS
CHANDIGARH: BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh has criticized the previous Congress regime, alleging that under their rule, ration would rot in warehouses while children from impoverished families would succumb to hunger.
Chugh praised the initiatives of the Modi government, particularly focusing on the provision of free ration, reservation policies, and development efforts.
He highlighted Modi’s intervention, stating that the Prime Minister personally unlocked these grain warehouses, allowing for the implementation of the free ration scheme, which has been instrumental in addressing food insecurity.
Chugh emphasized the sanctity of the Indian Constitution, asserting that its framers had decided against providing reservation on the basis of religion.
However, he criticized the current political landscape, claiming that the INDI Alliance, including the Congress, was diverting reservation benefits meant for backward classes and Dalits to a particular religious group.
This shift in policy, according to Chugh, goes against the foundational principles of the Constitution. Chugh lauded the Modi government’s concerted efforts over the past decade to uplift and empower tribal communities. He highlighted various initiatives aimed at enhancing their pride, respect, and overall well-being.
The significant turnout at the public meeting served as a testament to the positive impact of these initiatives on tribal communities.
Chugh underscored the importance of strong leadership and governance in driving India’s progress.
He contrasted this with the purported desire of Pakistani leaders to see a Congress leader ascend to the Prime Minister’s office.
According to Chugh, a strong and resolute government led by Modi is essential for India’s continued growth and security.
Chugh reflected on Prime Minister Modi’s humble beginnings, highlighting his upbringing in poverty. He asserted that Modi’s life experiences serve as the inspiration behind every welfare scheme aimed at uplifting the poor.
Chugh noted that Modi’s emotional connection with beneficiaries stems from his firsthand understanding of poverty and suffering. Chugh expressed concerns about corruption and governance issues plaguing states like Punjab. He lamented the prevalence of target killings, the influence of mafia groups, and the escalating financial debt. Chugh emphasized the need for transparent and accountable governance to facilitate genuine development.
