JAMMU: Assistant Director (AD) CAPD Jammu Rural-1 on Thursday suspended Vikas Gupta Ration Dealer of PDS Depots at Mishriwala, Siblewala and Marjali for siphoning of government ration.
According to report, the aforesaid ration dealer remained reluctant in unlocking the depots thus creating hindrance in checking records and stock position by TSO Bhalwal.
Accordingly, the Assistant Director CAPD Jammu Rural-1 raided the depots along with Executive Magistrate to scrutinize the stocks of these centers.
The aforesaid action came in response to complaint made by locals about the non-distribution of ration by the aforesaid dealer for the month of April 2016. Consequently, AD CAPD, Jammu Rural-1 has directed the dealer to appear before him on 2nd May 2016 and present his stand. As the aforesaid dealer failed to prove his innocence, the licenses of his depots were suspended.
Meanwhile, the department also placed under suspension Rajit Singh, Supervisor Chatha Store and Romesh Singh Chib, Incharge Storekeeper Chatha Store Jammu for their involvement as pointed out in the enquiry report as they failed to watch the interest of the Government in detecting the tempered permits by ration dealers as gross negligence and consign loss to state exchequer. The regular departmental enquiry is likely to be initiated against these two suspended officials.
