Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan holds seminar on Sanskrit promotion

JAMMU: Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan on Tuesday held a national seminar on ‘Convergence – The modern Mantra for promotion of Sanskrit and its relevance in the present times’, through Department of Modern Subjects.
In the Inaugural Session, Prof. Posh Charak, Member, J and K Public Service Commission and former Head of the Department of English, University of Jammu was the Chief Guest while Dr. Vinod Kumar Gupta, renowned literary personality and former faculty of the Campus was the Guest of Honour. In the Valedictory Session, Dr. Rajendra Mishra, Associate Professor, the Business School, University of Jammu was the Chief Guest, and Dr. Seema Kaushik, Assistant Professor, Laxmibai College, University of Delhi was the Guest of Honour, while P.C. Mahapatra, Head of the Department of Modern Subjects, Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, Ved Vyas Campus, Balahar, Himachal Pradesh was the Special Guest. Both the Sessions were presided over by Prof. Ramanuja Devanathan, Principal of the Jammu Campus. Prof. Posh said that various branches of learning should converge their knowledge resources so as to further the horizons of the knowledge.
Dr. Vinod Kumar Gupta said India has had a tradition of convergence since times immemorial.
Through Nadivigyan, the Ayurvedic doctors could diagnose diseases of the whole body without any pathological labs or equipments. Dr. Rajendra Mishra and Dr. Seema Kaushik gave power point presentations on the theme.
Prof. Ramanuja Devanathan said that it is good to improve our proficiency in our respective fields of training, but it is more important to take our knowledge to the world stage.
Dr. Prem Singh Sikarwar, Dr. D. Dayanath, Dr. Ashish Kumar Tripathy, Dr. Arun Kumar Mishra, Dr. Madan Kumar Jha, Dr. Mirza Ahmad Afzal Farooq, Tsering Dorjey, Dr. Gagandeep Sharma, Dr. Satish Kumar Kapoor, Dr. Shubhashree Dass, Sharat Chander Sharma, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Mishra, Nirmal Kumari Gupta, Dr. Rajender Lal, Dr. Yogendra Kumar Dixit, Vishal Mahajan, Dr. Chanchal Garg, Dr. Vinayak Rajat Bhat, and Suresh Swami presented their papers in the paper reading session.
Ravi, a student of the campus rendered a melodious welcome song. Sharat Chander Sharma, Head of the Department of Modern Subjects and Convener of the seminar welcomed the guests while Dr. Rajender Lal presented the vote to thanks. The Inaugural Session was conducted by Dr. Sanjay Kumar Mishra.
