JAMMU: Judicial Magistrate Akhnoor Jeewan Kumar on Thursday send former SHO Khour Mohammad Iqbal Chagattaa and Mamta Kumari SPO to eight days police remand after recording the statement of the prosecutrix.
When police presented Mohammad Iqbal Chagattaa and Mamta Kumari female SPO before the court seeking 15 days police remand, Judicial Magistrate Akhnoor Jeewan Kumar observed that the offences are very heinous in nature and some of the aspects of case are required to be investigated and granted eight days police remand up to May 20, 2016 with the direction to produce the accused before the Court on that day.
According to police, a girl lodged a written complaint to SDPO Akhnoor alleging that she was raped by the then SHO Police Station Khour Mohammad Iqbal Chaggata about six months ago when she was recovered in a complaint registered against the boy with whom she eloped and married. The aforesaid girl was kept inside Police Station Khour for two nights and lady police official posted in the same Police Station allegedly facilitated the commission of offence.
On girl’s allegation, case FIR No. 45 of 2016 under Section 376(2) has been registered against ex-SHO Police Station Khour at Police Station Khour and 109 RPC against the woman SPO Mamta Kumari for facilitating the crime. The concerned SHO has been taken into custody and investigation has been taken-up by the SDPO Akhnoor.
