JAMMU: Invoking blessings of Maa Durga, National Conference Provincial President Devender Rana on Tuesday prayed for return of peace and tranquility in Jammu and Kashmir, describing it a land of saints and sages that kept the flag of amity and brotherhood aloft during most testing times.
“Navratras are the auspicious days when we all should submit before Maa Durga, the divine mother, and seek Her blessings for all”, the Provincial President said while addressing a congregation held on the First Navratra at Kole Kandoli in Nagrota Assembly Constituency.
Kole Kandoli is the base station of the holy cave Shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi on Trikuta Hills.
Rana said the people of Jammu were blessed to be under the footsteps of Mata Vaishno Devi that has blessed them with happiness and prosperity. “We must devote ourselves to the special prayers for Mata to overcome all our difficulties”, he said and hoped that Navratras will steer the state to new era of progress and peace.
Rana exhorted the people of Jammu to maintain their proud hospitality towards the pilgrims thronging from various parts of the country and even abroad, especially during the current Navratra days. He hoped that the blessings of Goddess Durga will help in eschewing the tendencies of hate and intolerance that have unfortunately overtaken compassion, love and sacrifice.
The Provincial President wished the people blissful Navratras. A large number of people from peripheries including Jagati Migrant Camp participated in the congregation and recited Bhajjans, invoking the blessings of Ma Shakti.
