Rana flags off Machail Yatra

NAGROTA: A spiritual ambience of famous Machail Mata Temple at Dhammi in Panjgrian Panchayat of Nagrota Assembly Constituency, Provincial President J and K National Conference and MLA Nagrota, Devender Singh Rana on Wednesday received the holy Jyot of Machail Mata and flagged off the annual pilgrimage for the revered Shrine in Pardar, Kishtwar.
Chanting Bhajans, nearly 3,000 devotees carried the Jyot in the form of procession with locals showering flowers petals.
Wishing the Yatra to be the harbinger of peace and tranquillity, Devender Singh Rana said such pilgrimage help in fostering amity and brotherhood between various segments of the society in true spirit of pluralistic ethos of Jammu and Kashmir.
He hoped that the age old pilgrimage will culminate, after arduous trekking with religious fervour.
The pilgrims will trek 32 Kms from Gulabgarh on foot and reach the Holy Shrine.
The President and Convener of the Organising Committee Sanjay Gupta and Sanjay Gandotra also spoke on the occasion and spelled out the broad contours of the pilgrimage.
Among others who were present on the occasion included Pt. Rameshwar Dutt, Dharamveer Singh Jamwal, Saraf Singh, Puran Singh, Mangal Singh and Ramesh Singh.
