He urged the people to support his mission of transforming Nagrota into a developmental model to emulate.
The day began with people joining Rana in his door to door campaign and whirlwind tour of the constituency ahead of the campaigning coming to close. Amid enthusiasm, thousands of people joined the rally despite chilly cold and kept chanting slogans in favour of the National Conference candidate.
During wayside impromptu meetings, Rana reiterated his appeal for peoples’ participation in changing the developmental scenario, saying their valuable suggestions in the past seven years had immensely helped in fixing priorities and undertaking schemes of immense public utility. “This is the strength of democracy where public’ will prevails”, he said and hoped the sagacious people of Nagrota shall continue to guide in shaping the destiny of the area.
“We have nurtured dreams and let us join together and engage ourselves in inclusive development and strengthening the unity between our people”, he said, adding that the constituency presented a shining example of unity in diversity with people of all shades collectively looking for development and rechristening a new Nagrota. He particularly lauded the youngsters, who formed key component of his campaigning with a hope of promise and development of the area.
Rana assured the people that he will respect their trust by doing everything possible for the fast-track development of each village of the constituency. “My vision is to see every face smiling, every household getting basic facility at their door step and Nagrota becoming a model constituency of the State”, he added.
The Provincial President also acknowledged the love and affection bestowed upon him, not only during the campaigning, but all along his engagement with the development of this constituency, and said he will endeavour to pay back this debt by working with a sense of devotion for progress and prosperity of Nagrota. He said he has been treating the people of the constituency as a larger family, no matter their affiliations.
“I believe in overall growth of Nagrota, wherein every single individual, irrespective of caste, creed, colour or political affiliation gets equal opportunity of progress and due share in development”, he said, adding that difference of opinion is essence of democracy but once it comes to deliverance, nobody should feel deprived.
In his interactions with groups of people in various villages, Rana said the phase of campaigning and putting before the people different points of view was over and the real task is ahead in a few days when promises are to be translated into action. “You will not find me lagging behind in this grand effort”, he said and solicited peoples’ cooperation in meeting their aspirations.
