RAMNAGAR: Describing the 12 months BJP-PDP rule in the State as a period of decadence, non development, non governance, filth and squalor, Harsh Dev Singh, Chairman JKNPP and former Minister, today ridiculed the tall slogans of ‘Achhe Din’, ‘Good Governance with development’, ‘corruption free government’, ‘Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas’ besides other signature slogans which were sold with a big splash by Union and State leaders during elections.
He said that Parliament and Assembly elections in the State witnessed several Central and J and K leaders giving glamorous and catchy slogans and thereby exploiting the gullibility of hoards of passionate voters only to cheat them after the elections.
He said that the people of Jammu region who had discarded their respective political parties during elections to enthrone BJP to power were the most disappointed lot today in view of its leaders’ cowardice making one surrender after the other before its dominant partner.
He was addressing public meetings in Thalora, Majala, Kail, Paldair village of Tehsil Majalta.
Expressing grave concern over the ever aggravating woes and sufferings of the people of Ramnagar Constituency who were being deprived of the basic amenities including power supply, potable drinking water, ration supply etc, Harsh cautioned the concerned officers to fall in line and to address the grievances of the aggrieved public before it was too late.
He said that Ramnagar Constituency was the most neglected constituency literally and figuratively with no attention being paid by the concerned to address the miseries and tribulations of the public.
He deplored the shabby plight of existing roads in various villages of Tehsil Majalta which were crying for repairs and maintenance to their utter neglect by the concerned department officials.
He regretted that not a single Km of road was pre-mixed or blacktopped in Ramnagar Constituency during the last 15 months and alleged siphoning off of the funds sanctioned for the purpose from Sept. 2014 till date.
He expressed dismay that not a single new road had been taken up for construction in the entire constituency. He expressed concern over huge irregularities in the PHE sector where crores of rupees were shown to have been spent in papers with hardly any tangible result having been shown on the ground.
Alleging loot and plunder of funds in PHE sector, he called upon the Minister PHE telephonically from the venue of public meetings and apprised him about the large scale resentment amongst the people who were reeling under acute drinking water problem. He further castigated the CAPD authorities for the prevalent ration crises in the constituency and further called upon the district administration to strictly monitor the ongoing revision process of BPL and APL ration card holders which was being abused by unscrupulous dealers in connivance with certain corrupt officials of the deptt.
Assuring people of the constituency to agitate their concerns at the appropriate level, Harsh Dev Singh cautioned the concerned authorities to take remedial measures at the earliest or else face public wrath. He sought priority construction of Majalta Morh – Majalta Bridge Road under PM’s package or CRF in view of most pressing demand of the public of various villages.
