RAMBAN: Randeep Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Police inaugurated Women Police Investigation Cell in the premises of Police Station Ramban in the presence of Additional Superintendent of Police, Ramban Mushtaq Choudhary, Dy.SP Hqrs Ramban Mohammad Rafiq Choudhary besides many other prominent citizens. Speaking on the occasion SSP Ramban said the women cell would look after all cases related with the women folks under the supervision of Senior Police Officers which were earlier forwarded to Women Cell Udhampur. He stressed on the need for women to come forward and seek redressal of their grievances in their home district and said that a special women help line will be installed in coming days and wide publicity is being given in the district regarding opening of Women Police Investigation Cell and its functioning.
A fully dedicated staff of female police officials would receive their problems and a patient hearing shall be given to them. The establishment of women investigation cell in district Hqrs was highly appreciated by the locals. Locals welcomed the police initiative and described it as a great step for criminal justice system especially women related. They said earlier due to lack of women cell, many women inspite of having genuine grievances used to avoid reporting by this step, it will be a thing of past.
