RAJOURI: About 50 wrestlers who took part in the wrestling championship organised by Rajouri District Indian Style Wrestling Association with the collaboration of J and K State Sports Council under the aegis of J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association at village Moghla in Tehsil Taryath of District Rajouri, which concluded on Sunday.
The championship was held under the overall supervision of President J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma. In the championship wrestlers in six weight categories from Moghla, Tradu, Mathyani, Panggar, Odhan, Solki, Khiwas and Tiryath areas participated.
Zonal Education Officer Pouni, Anwar Hussian Choudhary was the Chief Guest who presented medals, certificates and gift to the wrestlers whereas Shiv Kumar Sharma presided over the function.
Former Tehsildar and General Secretary of the Association, Bansi Lal Tidyal was the Guest of Honour.
Director competition, NIS Wrestling Coach Mulk Raj Sharma conducted the proceedings whereas vote of thanks was presented by Shiv Kumar Sharma.
The bouts were officiated by Joint Secretary of the Association Sanjeev Kumar Sharma and wrestler Sunit Singh.
Shiv Kumar Sharma said that the association will give every possible help for the development of the game of wrestling in Rajouri District. He said possibility will also be explored for arranging coaching camp for the wrestlers in near future.
Results: 38Kg: Sunil Datta 1st, Dheeraj 2nd and Tankeswar and Adreesh Javed 3rd. 44Kg: Ravi Sharma 1st, Gaurav Kumar 2nd and Bikar Ahmed and Riaz 3rd. 48Kg: Varinder Singh 1st, Mohammad Altaf 2nd and Ikram and Anil Kumar 3rd. 53Kg: Mohinder Singh 1st, Joginder Pal 2nd and Saurav and Moin Khan 3rd. 57Kg: Puran Singh 1st, Onkar Nath 2nd and Lovnesh and Mohammad Ashraf 3rd. 62Kg: Zulfkar Ali 1st, Noor Ahmed 2nd and Mohammad Khaliq and Imran Khan 3rd.
