Rajouri Admn to come up with drug de-addiction centre

RAJOURI: Chairman District Health Society Rajouri (District Development Commissioner) Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary on Thursday said the district administration is coming up with a drug de-addiction centre in district hospital and funds to the tune of Rs. 20 lakh have already been earmarked for the same.
He was speaking in a meeting of health officials convened to review the functioning of Health Department vis-à-vis the latest status of construction work on buildings of NTPHCs, health sub-centers and staff quarters, implementation of free diagnostic tests scheme besides the issue of dearth of staff and equipments in various health institutes of the district.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Suresh Sharma while giving a detailed presentation informed that under NABARD six works including one PHC at Dodaj and two NTPHC at Mohra Draj and Samote are taken up at a cost of Rs. 1.96 crore.
He further informed that the department has targeted the completion of health sub-centers at Saroola, Niharkassi, Paryali, Dandesar, Potha, Broh, Hubbi Kallar, Harthal besides PHC Darkari in district sector during current financial year.
The DDC took serious view of officials attached outside the district in utter disregard to the cabinet orders for detachment. He directed the concerned to provide details of all such employees who are attached outside the district within a day time so that action under rules can be initiated in the matter.
He also impressed upon the CMO to carry out a holistic exercise for rationalisation of staff.
The DDC also reviewed the availability of various diagnostic tests in the district and peripheral hospitals for effective implementation of free diagnostic tests scheme.
CPO Abdul Hamid, MS Dr. Mehmood Hussaun Bajar, Dy. CMO Dr. Anis A. Nabi, District Tuberculosis Officer Dr. Mohd Anwar, all Block Medical Officers and Community Health Officers attended the meeting.
