After strenuous efforts police teams have been able to reach out the worst affected areas of district Rajouri and able to save hundreds of people including children who were evacuated to safer places.
Manpower of District Police in association with Army evacuated 62 persons from Khandli Nallah to safer places. Whereas 550 persons including women and children were also evacuated from Bela Colony. In addition 15 persons including women have been also rescued from Dhanigri near Distrcit Jail .
Twenty five bodies have been recovered at Kali Darhal Nallah Jammer Bridge so far, where a Barati bus was washed away by heavy floods yesterday .
In district Poonch 700 people of flood effected areas have been evacuated and shifted to safer places at Poonch town, Dashnami Akhara, Khakha Naban , Idd Gah complex
In all 16 persons have been buried in land slides in district Rajouri. Thirteen persons including five men, three women and five children got buried in a house during land slide at Thannamandi. Three persons were also buried in the house which collapsed in Baghla Dhok in Tehsil Kotranka while one person was washed away in Tehsil Darhal and one boy died in Tehsil Manjakote. Thirty five houses collapsed in district Rajouri including PHE water tanks and adjoining buildings in Bela Colony.
