Rajiv-Farooq accord responsible for rise of terrorism in J&K: Arun Prabhat
STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) Jammu Kashmir President, Arun Prabhat has lashed out against Congress leader and Member of Parliament (MP) Rahul Gandhi for recent comments during Bharat Jodo Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir.
The BJYM leader expressed surprise over the remarks of Rahul Gandhi that outsiders are ruling J&K.
“It is very shameful that Rahul Gandhi who is leading the so-called Bharat Jodo Yatra is dividing the people and spreading hatred against people from other states of India who work in J&K”, he said.
“Congress Party is yet to clear its stance on Article 370 which has granted special status to J&K and 35-A which was discriminatory against women”, he said.
Prabhat alleged that Congress policies were responsible for the rise of terrorism in J&K which has led to the death of thousands of people.
He alleged that rigged assembly elections in 1987 were responsible for the entry of guns into Kashmir .
“Kashmir’s turning point was the rigged assembly election of 1987 when Farooq Abdullah was the Chief Minister of erstwhile state and late Rajiv Gandhi was the Prime Minister. The rigging led to decades of violence in which thousands of people have been killed.”, alleged Prabhat .
He claimed that it was due to the policies of the then Congress government at New Delhi, that remained mute spectator to the eruption of terrorism in J&K.
“The rise of terrorism led to the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley. It was because of policies of Congress that lakhs of people belonging to minority communities were forced to leave their homes”, said Prabhat.
Rahul Gandhi must apologize to the people of Jammu Kashmir for the wrong deeds done by the Congress party.
