Rajendra assures full support to martyrs families
SRINAGAR: On the occasion of Police Commemoration Day Parade, the Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar along with the team of senior police officers, spent hours together with the families of martyrs and heard their problems. He said that the organisation is proud of its martyrs and feels its responsibility to assist their families.
Addressing the families, Rajendra assured the families that their problems would be looked into and all genuine demands fulfilled. He also assured them that matters related to the welfare of the families would be settled on priority.
On spot directions were conveyed to the supervisory officers to monitor the process of various issues of martyr’s families besides perusing all pending issues with the government like relaxation in compassionate appointments etc.
Rajendra disclosed that police organisation is providing every assistance to the families of martyrs as it is our prime duty to take care of these families as members of police Parivar.
He said that various welfare schemes have been launched, providing succor to the next of kins of our brave martyrs, who sacrificed their present for our safe future.
The DGP said that during the current year Rs. 10.46 crores were distributed among the families of martyrs and other deceased personnel as special relief, besides Rs. 1.22 crore as ex-gratia relief. He said that Rs. 22 lakh were provided as scholarship to the martyr’s wards to encourage their schooling.
The DGP asked the officers to ensure regular interactions at district level with the martyr’s families to get feedback from them about their problems. He said that Nodal Officers should be made accountable for the welfare of families.
