Radiant festivities and joyful learning mark Diwali Mela at JK Public School Kunjwani

JAMMU: The spirit of festivity and togetherness filled the air as the Primary Wing of JK Public School came alive with colours, lights, and laughter during the much-awaited “Diwali Mela” on Sunday. The grand celebration was a harmonious blend of cultural expression, creativity, and joy – a reflection of the young learners’ enthusiasm and their teachers’ dedicated guidance.
The school campus, adorned with strings of lights, vibrant rangolis, and glittering diyas, wore a dazzling festive look. The celebration commenced with the cutting of the ribbon by Ritul Charak, the proud recipient of Ms Ultra India 2025 and selected to represent India in Ms Ultra Universe pageant 2026 to be held in Brazil.
Dignitaries present on the occasion were Chairman JK Educational Society Raj Daluja, Patron Davinder Daluja and Neelam Daluja, Director Shashi Chaudhary, members of management, Sidharth Daluja and Sara Daluja; Principal, JKPS Kunjwani Rajesh Rathore, Vice Principal Roopinder Kaur; School Coordinator Inderjeet Kour; Academic Coordinator Parvinder Kour; Primary Wing Coordinator Anju Raj, Toddler Wing Coordinator alongwith parents, teachers and students.
The event unfolded with a beautifully curated cultural programme where students of the Primary Wing showcased their innate talents through graceful dances, devotional songs, and dramatic performances that conveyed the timeless message of Diwali – victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. Their radiant smiles, expressive gestures, and innocent energy filled the arena with warmth and festive spirit.
The Diwali Mela stalls, conceptualized and managed by the young students under teachers’ guidance, were a feast for the senses. The fair offered an impressive variety of handcrafted items, diyas, paper lanterns, torans, greeting cards, festive décor, and eco-friendly crafts – all created by the children with boundless imagination and care. The vibrant food stalls offered an array of traditional sweets and savouries, while fun-filled games, art corners, and lucky draws kept visitors delighted throughout the day.
Parents, teachers, and students mingled joyfully, celebrating the festival in a spirit of unity and cultural pride. The event also emphasized the importance of environmental responsibility, with students spreading awareness about celebrating an eco-friendly Diwali free from pollution and waste.
The tireless efforts of the students and staff were visible as this Diwali Mela was much more than celebration – it was an expression of learning through joy, teamwork, and shared cultural values. The enthusiasm of the primary students reflected the very essence of Diwali – lighting up lives with positivity, kindness, and hope. Amidst an atmosphere of enthusiasm and applause, the Chairman of JK Educational Society, Raj Daluja, graciously presented the prizes to the winners of the Raffle Lucky Draw, adding a touch of grandeur to the occasion.”
