UDHAMPUR: R S Pura shall take on Udhampur in the final of the two-day open Kabaddi tournament, organised by Udhampur Kabaddi Club at Subash Stadium, here.
Earlier, in the semifinals, R.S Pura defeated Kathua 23-16 while Udhampur defeated Jammu 25-23.
In total, 11 teams (including teams from Jammu, RS Pura, Kathua, Panchari, Chenani, and local clubs) are participating in this event. The event was declared open by former MLA, Balwant Singh Mankotia who was the chief guest. Ramesh Chander Mishra, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Udhampur was guest of honour.
The chief guest stressed upon the players to play the game with true sportsmanship to make themselves physically and mentally fit.
Among others who witnessed the matches were Ashok Kumar Sharma (Vice President J&K Kabaddi Association), Ramesh Chander, Som Dev Khajuria, Vikas Sharma, Bhoopinder Singh, Jatin Sethi, Sanjeev Kumar Khajuria and Anshu Brat Khanna (coordinator of the tournament).
The technical penal in this event included Kulbushan Sharma, Ram Kumar, Sandeep Verma, Ravi Kumar, Anita Sharma and Khushwant Singh.
The Results: Preliminary Round: Chenani Club defeated KV Club 33-22; Kathua Club defeated Garhi Club by score 30-26.
