PYS starts training in folk arts for students

JAMMU: Progressive Youth Society (PYC) Ramnagar, on Sunday started training of students in folk arts in collaboration with Sangeet Natak Akademi New Delhi in the premises of Prince Public School Paloura, here.
Dr.K.C Dubey, Ex-Director Radio and Doordarshan Jammu, was the Chief Guest in the inaugural function which was presided over by Dr. Prince Mohan Sharma, Chairman of the School. Renowned Poet Ramesh Rahi graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour.
The programme started with welcome address by Manoj Kumar Sharma ‘Nishchint’, President PYS, who also conducted the proceedings.
Ramesh Rahi lauded the efforts of PYS for such a valuable training programme for students as such new generation is totally ignorant of our Dogra culture. He wished ail success to trainee students.
Dr. Prince, while highlighting the significance of training programme, said that he himself does not know the difference between Karak and Bhakh although he lives in Duggar land.
Dr. K.C Dubey expressed interest in such training in folk arts meant for students and asked the students to learn every activity with devotion full of interest because the purpose of such training is to revive the folk traditions in new generation.
“We have become modern without caring for our old culture. Even, coming generation is forgetting mother tongue too day by day which is dangerous for all of us,” he said.
Sat Paul Sharma, Santosh Bandral and Anjana Padwal started first lesson of training in their respective fields.
