RAJOURI: The casual labourers, need based workers working in PWD (R&B) who were on an indefinite strike from 19th May 2015 for redressal of their grievances, fulfillment of their genuine demands called off their strike on the verbal assurances given by Chief Engineer, PW (R&B) Department Jammu at PWD Dak Bungalow Rajouri for release of their pending wages.
He also assured the casual labourers, need based workers, ITI trained workers that no one will terminate their services and he has already made the genuine recommendations to the government for formulation of a regularisation policy for these workers working in the department since long. He issued verbal instructions to the Executive Engineers to release their long pending wages at the earliest.
While speaking to media persons, President of the Union Mohammed Riaz Mughal thanked the Chief Engineer for his positive initiative for redressal of their genuine grievances. He also thanked various NGOs, Employees Unions and State Level Unions for their support.
