JAMMU: A nexus involving the officials of the Public Works Department (PWD) and contractors was exposed when Ramnagar police seized 52 cements bags from a house on Monday evening.
The Khyber brand cement bags meant for the government supply were recovered from the house of one contractor Jugal Kishore Gupta at Ramanagar.
Police team led by SHO Ramnagar Inspector Deepak Pathania conducted the raid and arrested the accused contractor. “We had received number of complaints regarding the black marketing of cement bags meant for government supply,” police said.
An FIR 97/14 under section 409 RPC has been registered at police station Ramnagar. Police said, the record of PWD store has also been seized for scrutiny.
