PWD casual labourers hold protest, project demands

JAMMU: J and K PWD Casual Labourers Union held a protest in front of Chief Engineer, PW(R&B) Department demanding regularisation policy for the workers engaged after 1994.
Raising slogans in support of their demands, the protestors urged the government to frame regularisation policy for all causal workers, who are working in the department for the past over a decade.
They also demanded release of wages under proper wages head.
President of the Union, Ajay Kumar expressed anguish meted out by the previous State Government by making false promises for regularization of around 1336 casual labours working in PWD (R&B).
Their demands include regularisation of all the casual labourers/need based workers who have completed seven years of services in the department, creation of separate head of wages to meet out the wage expenditure, clear the pending wages and enhancement of wages from Rs.150 to Rs. 400 per day.
He appealed to all casual labourers of PWD (R&B) and PMGSY Department to come forward and join struggle for justice.
Vice Presidents-Bhanu Partap Singh and Naresh Kumar Sharma, General Secretaries-Aijaz Ahmad and Satish Kumar Sharma, Joint Secretaries-Jogesh Bhau and Ajay Bansotra, Advisor- Sunil Sathoo, Ravi Kumar, Himmet Singh, Rohit Kumar, Ganesh Khajuria, Rajat Khajuria, Dinesh Sharma, Ravinder Singh, Yograj Sharma, Shiv Darshan Singh, Verinder Singh, Vijay Kumar, Kishore, Ankush Sharma, Narinder, Nitin and Sanjeev Suri were also present.
