Purani Poonch-A trounces City Club to lift CRPF soccer trophy

JAMMU: Purani Poonch-A trounced City Club in the final of football tournament organised by the 72 Battalion of CRPF.
Eight teams put in their efforts and showed grit in this three days event in which Purani Poonch-A maintained its supremacy by outshining its rival to lift the trophy.
Commandant 72 Bn Dinesh was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Congratulating the participating teams for showing exemplary sportsman spirit, he asserted that CRPF shall continue to support the youth of the region in becoming meaningful citizens of the nation. Later, he distributed prizes among the participants.
Giving significance of CRPF in maintaining internal security, he also divulged that besides fortifying security, CRPF also endeavours to maintain cordial relations with people, administration, police and media fraternity through its popular civic action programmes.
Winner Purani Poonch-A was given a cash prize of Rs. 20,000 and runner-up City Club was rewarded with Rs. 15,000. Man of the Match was given Rs. 1,000 and Man of the Tournament Rs. 1,500 besides referees were also felicitated on the occasion. Shashi, R.N Choudhary, Parvinder Kaur, Amar
