POONCH: A protest was held by residents of Purani Poonch near Moti Mahal against the failure of Irrigation and Flood Control Department to stop soil erosion due to Betar Nallah.
Addressing the protesters, Jugal Kishore Sharma social activist urged the district administration and Irrigation Department to construct concrete bunds immediately to stop soil erosion.
They warned that if administration fails to protect the area the people would come on roads for their basic rights.
Others who joined the protest were Vickey Sharma, Ramsh Chandar, Papi, Mohd Shania, Shusheel Kumar and Raj Paul.
