KATRA: Pahelwan Rimpy of Ludhiana in Punjab lifted 32nd Salora Kesari 2016 title by defeating Wrestler Ishaq (Lalu) of Bajrangi Akhara Jammu in a very tough fight that lasted for 13 minutes at Salora in Tehsil Dansal of District Jammu.
Dangal was organised by Salora Dangal Committee in association with J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of President J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma, Chuni Lal Ramotra and Rajinder Kumar Ramotra.
Choudhary Noor Ali, District Secretary National Conference was the Chief Guest on the occasion, who distributed cash prizes among the winners and runner up wrestlers.
Joint Secretary J and K State Sports Council, Shiv Kumar Sharma, who is also Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India and President Senior Citizens Welfare Forum Katra, presided over the function.
DySP Nagrota Bharat Bushan Sharma, Retd. SP Prithvi Raj Sharma and social activist and wrestling promoter Ram Paul Sharma were the Guests of Honour.
SHO Jajjarkotli Ravinder Singh, SHO Parvez, Naib Teshildar Rashid Mohd., Assistant Sub Inspector Tilk Raj Sharma, Sarpanch Madan Dubey, Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri), Sarpanch Bansi Lal, Sarpanch Romesh Chander, Sarpanch Rehmat Ali were also present.
In all 72 bouts were played in the one day long Dangal.
Noor Ali, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Chuni Lal awarded cash prize of Rs. 9,000- to winner of main bout wrestler Rimpy while Rs. 6,000- were given to runner-up wrestler Ishaq (Lalu) by Rajinder Kumar, DySP Bharat Bushan Sharma and SHO Ravinder Singh.
The second main bout was won by Farooq of Sarore who defeated Ranjeet of Ludhiana. Winner Frooq was awarded with Rs. 7,000 while runner-up Ranjeet with cash prize of Rs. 4,000.
The third bout was won by Kaka of R.S Pura who defeated Sagar of Delhi. Fourth bout was won by Gurmail of BSF of Chandigarh who defeated Fiza of Billawar. Fifth bout was won by Bobari of Sarore who defeated Happy of Ludhiana.
Salora Dangal Committee members and technical officials who helped for conduct of Dangal were Chuni Lal Ramotra, Rajinder Kumar Ramotra, Ashok Kumar, Om Parkash, Choudhary Ahmed Din, Arun Sharma, Nek Ram, Mohd. Shariff, Mohinder Sharma, Shamsher Singh, Kaka Sharma, Sunny Sharma, Surat Singh, Grdhari Lal, Ajay Ramotra, Ajay Sharma, Surinder Sharma, Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri), Om Pakash Verma, Raj Singh, Sat Paul, Mohd. Fareed and Murli Dhar (Munna).

The proceedings of the Dangal were conducted by Mohd. Fareed while welcome address was presented by Rajinder Kumar Ramotra. The vote of thanks was presented by Chuni Lal Ramotra.
