Punjab wrestler Jassa Patti wins Akhnoor Kesari Dangal title

AKHNOOR: Wrestler Jassa Patti of Punjab clinched the 65th Annual Akhnoor Kesari Vishal Dangal title by defeating wrestler Benia Min of Basantgarh in Udhampur District in a tough fight that lasted for 11 minutes.
The historic and famous one day wrestling event was organised by Akhnoor Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of Madan Lal Gupta (Kaku Shah), President Akhnoor Dangal Committee and President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma.
In all 85 bouts were played in the one day long Dangal.
MLA Akhnoor Rajeev Sharma was the Chief Guest who distributed cash prizes among winner and runner-up wrestlers. Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council Shiv Kumar Sharma who is also Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India and President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association presided over the function.
Mahant Ramashwar Dass Maharaj, Retired SP Prithvi Raj Sharma, SDPO Munish Sharma and social activist and wrestling promoter Ram Paul Sharma were the Guests of Honour. Virender Sharma and Pandit Rana were also present on the occasion.
MLA Akhnoor in presence of Shiv Kumar Sharma and Madan Lal Gupta (Kaku Shah) gave Rs 70,000 as cash prize money to winner of main bout wrestler Jassa Patti while Rs 50,000 was given to runner-up wrestler Benia Min.
The second main bout was won by Vikram of Haryana who defeated Akram of Bajrangi Akhara Jammu. Third main bout ended in a draw that was played between Ishaq Ahmed (Lallu) and Amit of Patila. Fourth main bout was won by Nissar of Doda who defeated Lalli of Garh Shanker (Punjab). Fifth bout was won by Gunga of Patiala who defeated Sadiq of Domana Akhnoor. Sixth bout played between Ajay Sharma of Udhampur and Ravi of Path. This bout ended in a draw.
Akhnoor Dangal Committee members and technical officials who helped for conduct of Vishal Dangal were Madan Mohan Gupta (Kaku Shah) (President), Karan Singh (Vice-President), Dayal Sharma (Secretary), Darshan Lal (Cashier), Captain Jugal Gupta, Gian Dass, Om Parkash Sharma (NIS Wrestling Coach), Krishan Singh (NIS Wrestling Coach), Mulk Raj Sharma, Sunny (Airtel), Mohd. Fareed, Dayal Chand, Bishan Dass, Vipin Gupta, Shiva, Sham Lal, Tej Ram, Yogesh Kumar,Subash Chander and Murli Dhar (Munna).
The proceedings of Dangal were conducted by Captain Jugal Gupta and Mohd. Fareed, while welcome address was presented by Madan Lal Gupta (Kaku Shah). Vote of thanks was presented by Karan Singh.

Bout played between Bobari of Sarore and Chain of Patti ended in a draw.
