Public conduct
Dear Editor,
This is in reference to news story captioned, “JMC Comm slaps contractor; snatches video journo’s Camers” that saw the light of the day in the columns of your esteemed Daily on 28th Jan. The contents of the reported material raise too many questions that shall have to be answered in case operation follow up is undertaken. Let Mandeep Kour write back in print media too as restricting her tale of woe on social media has not many takers.
The restraint and aplomb even in most provocative environment from Mandeep has been missing if one reads between the lines. Taking law into hands by anyone is abuse of authority and no one should take the things for granted. It is a million dollar question as to who is right and who is wrong. Let the complete and unadulterated footage be released and time bound enquiry conducted to sift the grain from husk by men of 24 carat integrity, if any. The component of abetment by JMC Commissioner is also reflected in the detailed media coverage. Privacy of a person is OK but its definition aired by Mandeep requires further analysis. Do not waste time and answer all the controversies raised for a healthy debate among civil society of Jammu that is used to a long spell of sleep.
