Public cautioned to stay away from rivers, Nallahs during rainy season
STATE TIMES NEWS
KATHUA: The Flood Control Department Kathua has cautioned the general public that during the monsoon season rivers Ujh, Naj, Bhini and Ravi and local Nallahas get swelled up with runoff water in a short span of time which results in flash floods in these rivers/Nallahs without advance warning and often wrecking havoc with life and property.
The public is requested not to pass through these rivers and restrain their live stock from entering these rivers during rainy season to avert any mishap in case of sudden flash floods.
Likewise the owners of trucks, trolleys and other carriers are also advised to restrain themselves from venturing into rivers and Nallahas for collecting extraction material from river beds during rainy season which shall roughly commence from 1st July.
