JAMMU: Department of Botany, Padma Shri Padma Sachdev (PSPS) Govt. College for Women (GCW) Gandhi Nagar Jammu organized ‘Science Festival-2023’ with theme- ‘ Global Science for Global Wellbeing’.
The Festival was inaugurated by Principal Prof. Minu Mahajan. Prof. Mala Bhasin, Convenor and Head of Department, Botany welcomed the dignitaries.
Interacting with students, Prof. Minu motivated them to be the part of various research based science programs launched by Govt. of India for Sustainable Development and Global Wellbeing.
In Model Making Competition 36 students participated and displayed beautiful working as well as still science models related to their syllabi. The event was adjudged by Prof. Kamlesh Salathia, Dr. Indu Khajuria and Prof. Vasudha Choudhary. Prableen Kour and Haspreet Kour got first and second position respectively whereas third position was clinched jointly by Dyuti Kour and Ayera Bashir. In Stone Art/Painting, 15 students participated. Both the events were coordinated by the members of organizing committee- Dr. Anju Koul, Prof. Sugandha Mahajan, Dr. Renu Sharma, Prof. Meenakshi Sharma, Prof. Swarn Singh and Dr. Moien Qadir Malik.
