Perhaps, another problem in the Valley is the lack of industry and jobs. It is when the population is under-employed that it becomes a sitting duck for someone to foment insurgency. Except apple-growing and tourism, which are largely seasonal activities, that too for a minor few, the Valley has no meaningful activity to compensate for the time the youth has in hands. Running mostly on doles by the Union Government, youths have no idea of what it takes to support the amenities enjoyed by them.
