JAMMU: Demanding permanent solution of their issues and re-engagement of the terminated staff, All J and K Polytechnic Academic Arrangements Association continued their strike which entered 6th day on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Atul Sudan, President of All J and K Polytechnic Academic Arrangements Association, said “Academic Arrangements are back bone of the department and they comprise 80 percent of teaching staff in polytechnics. They have given many crucial years of their life for the department and many of them have become over aged while serving the department, which is now playing very cheap tactics by terminating them one by one,” he said. “Instead of making any regularization policy for them as assured by previous Chief Minister, Technical Education Minister and officials are using the means of transfers and new postings to terminate the Academic Arrangements,” he added and lamented that those who had served department for many years, that too on very meager salary of Rs 6,500 and RS 7,000, were now being asked to quit because permanent staff by transfers is joining on their respective post.
He appealed to the Technical Education Minister to intervene in their matter as department is not serious regarding the same.
