Dear Editor,
The powerful 7.9 magnitude earthquake that struck Nepal was massive, destructive and devastating. The prompt action of the Modi Government in rushing aid to the nation needs to be applauded. India has also extended help to nationals from other countries stranded in Nepal. Many Indians have been evacuated, as effectively as they were during the Yemen crisis. But more international aid, and from SAARC nations, is a must for Nepal, as the people suffer shortage of food, water and shelter.
