SAMBA: MLC Yashpal Sharma on Monday inaugurated community kitchen shed for benefit of the devotees at Baba Chamliyal Shrine at Ramgarh sector in district Samba.
Sharma granted Rs 5 lakh out of his Constituency Development Fund for the aforesaid purpose. He also announced Rs 7 lakh for the construction of community kitchen shed.
Every year, lakhs of devotees visited the Shrine to pay obeisance to Baba Chamliyal.
While addressing the gathering, Sharma underlined the importance of the Shrine and appealed to the people to take inspiration from the life of Baba Chamliyal which aims at promoting convergence rather than divergence in human relations.
Sharma assured the people that the present dispensation under the leadership of Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti is ready to go the extra mile in order to promote the humanistic values of Saints and develop such shrines of the like nature across the State as the Centre of harmony and peace. The government is also committed to consider ways to increase inclusive representation of youth in decision-making at all levels and to offer new opportunities to the young people, he added.
Later, Sharma also inaugurated lanes and drains at Panchayat Chak Salaria which will be constructed with an estimated cost of Rs 3 lakh, which was provided from his Constituency Development Fund.
Responding to the demands of the local people, he also announced Rs 7 lakh for the development works in the aforesaid area.
It is pertinent to mention that supporters from Congress and NC joined PDP in the presence of MLC Yashpal Sharma. Vijay Kumar Bawa Ex-Sarpanch, Rattan Chowdhary Chairman, Baba Chamliyal Shrine, Santokh Singh, Mohan Singh, Tirath Ram and Om Parkash Ex- Sarpanch were also present.
