Progress of relief, rehabilitation works reviewed

UDHAMPUR: To assess pace and progress of Revenue Department involved in relief and rehabilitation of those areas which have been flood and landslide hit due to recent incessant rains, the Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Yasha Mudgal convened a review meeting of all revenue officers of the district at conference hall, Udhampur on Thursday.
In the meeting, discussions were held upon the various issues which include furnishing of 16 digit bank account numbers of affected families of fully damaged Pucca/Kucha houses, identification of families rendered houseless etc in the meeting.
Mudgal directed the concerned revenue officers to identify the families who are rendered houseless village wise. She stressed upon them to do survey that how many houseless families wanted to stay in temporary structures and how many wanted to stay in rental accommodation and submit a realistic report to her office within two days. She also informed that for their stay on rental accommodation, they would be given Rs 3,500 per month within municipal limits and Rs 2,500 per month in rural areas for four months.
She instructed all the Tehsildars that all the affected families should have 16 digit bank account numbers and those who are not having any bank account number, their bank accounts should be opened under Jan Dhan Yojna of the Govt.
She stressed upon all the Tehsildars that they should ensure that no affected families should stay in any tent, but they should be provided temporary/Govt structures/rental accommodation for their stay.
Joint Director Planning, Rakesh Jamwal, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Rajeev Magotra, Sub- Divisional Magistrates, all Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars and senior officers of various departments were also present in the meeting
