JAMMU: Professor Yash Pal Sharma on Friday took over as new Head of the Department of Botany from his guide and experienced faculty member, Prof Geeta Sumbali.
Belongs to village Seen Thakran in district Udhampur, Prof Yash, a senior faculty of University of Jammu, has the credit of guiding three Doctorates (PhDs) and 10 Masters of Philosophy (MPhils). At present 12 students are pursuing research under his guidance.
Prof Yash was earlier assigned with the job of Co-Chairman of Campus Cultural Committee and Convener, Campus Beautification.
