JAMMU: Former Chairman, J and K Board of Professional Entrance Examinations and Professor of Commerce, Prof. R. D. Sharma has been given the charge of Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu.
He is the senior most Professor in the Jammu University and joined the teaching profession in 1980 and became Reader in 1987 and Professor in 1994.
He served in various administrative and academic positions such as Dean Academic Affairs, Jammu University, Rector, Kathua Campus, Controller of Examinations, Dean, Faculty of Business Studies, Dean Faculty of Commerce, Convenor Board of Studies in Commerce, Head, Department of Commerce, Dean Students Welfare, Director Physical Education, Co-ordinator SAP in Commerce.
He was a visiting Fulbright Professor of Business Administration, URI, Kingston (USA). He has to his credit 12 books and 116 papers. His research work has figured in leading referral journals of national and international repute. He has guided 26 M. Phil and 24 Ph. D students. He has completed seven research projects. He has visited many countries such as Nepal, Sri Lanka, Dubai, China and USA. He is the member of University Syndicate and has also been a member of University Council.
