Procession taken out to commemorate 7th day of Muharram

JAMMU: A procession to commemorate 7th day of Muharram Shahadat of Shahzada Qasim was taken out from residence of Late Syed Mazhar Ali Shah under the banner of Anjuman-e-Imamia Jammu. A Majlis was also organized before the procession, which was addressed by Moulana Syed Ghulam Hussain Rizvi from Iran Culture House, New Delhi. While addressing the gathering, Moulana explained in detail the value of all 72 martyrs who laid down their lives in Karbala – ‘a Battle against oppression of Yazeed’. He further stressed upon the teachings of Imam Hussain and the supreme sacrifice of Shahzada Qasim, for the sake of truth and Justice. One can learn from history of Karbala that how to be a victorious when you are oppressed, said Moulana, adding that when you are on the path of Allah, no force can oppress you. During the procession, mourners recited Nohas and Marsiahs to pay tributes to Shehzada Qasim. At Imam Bargah New Plots, mourners offer Namaz-e-Magribain, followed by a Majlis, which was addressed by Molana Zaffer Mehdi from Muradabad.
President Anjuman-e-Imamia Syed Amanat Ali Shah, President Anjuman-e-Haidery New Plot Shakeel Karbalai, Vice President Anjuman-e-Imamia Jammu, Secretary Anjuman-e-Imamia, Prof Sujat Khan and other speakers also spoke on the occasion. The proceedings were conducted by Syed Ayaz Naqvi Joint Secretary of Anjuman-e-Imamia, who also delivered formal vote of thanks.
