By all accounts, the so-called mainstream leaders today lost face with Prime Minister Narendra Modi succeeding in holding a rally in the heart of the Srinagar city despite the fact that no political party, national or Kashmir-centric, has ever ventured to make a straight talk to the people. They either wear symbolic jargons to deceive the people or speak in soft secessionist tone to convey the impression of being on the other side of the fence. In the process, national interest gets jeopradised.
Is it a matter of pride or shame for dubious leaders to underestimate the wisdom of people they pretend to represent and indulge in double speak just to scale the ladder to power?
