In the backdrop of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah adopting softer line for BJP in the run up to Assembly elections, in contrast with strong posturing during Lok Sabha polls, the arch rival Peoples’ Democratic Party has felt jittered. In a scathing attack, PDP President said, “The state is facing a new political scenario with the BJP emerging in some areas as a major force and aiming to increase its presence in the legislative assembly through a divisive agenda based on communal polarisation and sectarian differences.” This seems to be sign of annoyance over tactical bonhomie brewing up between NC and BJP, which amounts to sidelining PDP to fence in next term as well.
Is it a matter of pride or shame for the so-called mainstream parties of Kashmir to play hide and seek by exploiting peoples sentiments just to grab the power?
