The people of India, irrespective of religion or region, are mobolising all resources to help the flood victims of Kashmir. Many social, voluntary, non-governmental, religious and political organisations have already sent huge consignments of relief material to their hapless brethren. But some zealots are looking at this humanitarian effort with tinted glasses. Syed Ali Geelani has specifically thanked Delhi Sikh Gurduwara Prabandakh Committee Manjeet Singh GK, Paramjeet Singh Chandok and Sardar Tanvant Singh for sending relief material to Kashmiris. This speaks of a wretched communal mindset.
Is it a matter of pride or shame for progressive and forward looking people to tolerate zealots who lack the minimum civilised human behaviour and courtesy to acknowledge the sympathy, if not help?
