PRIDE OR SHAME
Politicians know how to remain relevant to the situation and how to make news. Media houses are getting less updates on the flood situation and more handouts on ministers passing on instructions, both relevant and irrelevant. Their refrain remains the same, like a minister issuing instructions to the Flood Control Department to remain vigilant about the situation and be present at the site round the clock; ensure all works are done on high priority; take good care of people moved to safer locations etcetera.
Is it a matter of pride or shame for the politicians to behave like naïve entities even after holding offices for years together and remain in illusions that unless they pass on instructions through handouts, the respective agencies will not perform the duties they expected in situations like floods or natural calamities?
