Senior National Conference Minister Ali Mohammed Sagar is reported to have earned wrath of people during his visit to some down-town areas of Srinagar. The people accused the minister of waking up from deep slumber only when the situation in the wake of flood became near normal. A raged resident fumed that the State Ministers announced before TV cameras that free ration of 50 Kgs per month has been allotted to each house hold in the State for the period of six months but when the concerned depots are approached, the officials there say they have no such order at all.
Is it a matter of pride or shame for politicians to indulge in populism even when people are suffering miseries and agonies?
