The militant-turned politician Yasin Malik has succeeded in getting four persons released after staging Dharna at the commercial hub of the summer capital. The law enforcing agencies first placated the pampered secessionist, then used a mild force to disperse gathering surrounding him and ultimately released four persons, three from Srinagar Jail and one from Kupwara with reported assurance that ‘innocents will not be harassed’. These assurances led to withdrawal of Dharna by Yasin Malik and his moving to SKIMS four treatment, ostensibly on poor tax-payers’ expense.
Is it a matter of pride or shame for the administration to succumb before chronic secessionist even during the fading moments of dislodged government?
