PRIDE OR SHAME
Better late than never! At last the traffic police has realised the need for taking cognizance of growing accidents by registering complaints
of general public. Dedicated lines have been earmarked for the purpose to let the people complain about overloading, rash and negligent driving. Road mishaps have consumed more lives than terror violence in Jammu and Kashmir in recent years. Is it a matter of pride or
shame for the organisation with an army of personnel at its disposal to leave the monitoring part of traffic management on people
while those responsible to manage road discipline and to generate deterrence among violators remain busy in other ‘useful pursuits’?
