Old Age Home Jammu is a gruesome example of dwindling moral values and cracking edifice of our social fabric. The trend of abandoning old and infirm is alarmingly growing and those craving for compassion and care are finding their destination in a shanty house in Ambphalla. The homemakers are fast becoming homeless, less because of their choice and more because of the apathy of their very own. Adding to their plight are those who want to showcase them just to show off their affluence by providing a meager morsel occasionally.
Is it a matter of pride or shame for the so-called philanthropists to abuse the plight of most unfortunate segment of our ‘civilised’ society by making them subject matter of photo sessions to show off their humane face?
