Power has gone to their heads. A poor journalist has become subject matter of a senior PDP minister’s ‘Izzat-u- Abru’ when he got thrashing by cops accompanying him as escort in heart of the Srinagar City. The tag-line goes on saying that the self-respecting journo objected to escort personnel’s lewd remarks at his wife. When he tried to seek indulgence of the minister, the guards pounced on him ‘at the behest of the VIP’.
Is it a matter of pride or shame for self-styled Messiahs to turn perpetrators of harassment and humiliation and target innocent citizens in full public gaze under the toxic influence of power?
