President BJYM meets MoS Sports, seeks early release of funds for Indoor Stadium at Kargil

JAMMU: President BJYM Kargil, Hassan Pasha met Minster of State for Science and Technology and Youths Service and Sports, Sunil Kumar Sharma and raised the issues related to youths.
Keeping in view the harsh winter condition as well as the condition arising after the closure of NH 1D for six months of winter making Kargil cut off from rest of the world, he demanded central heating system in central library of
Kargil Town which would help students who come from far flung areas of Kargil to the town for their winter studies.
He informed the minister that youths from Kargil have represented India at national as well as international level in sports like taekwondo, ice hockey, archery as well as in boxing but due to lack of proper infrastructure and shabby condition of the only Sports Stadium of Kargil (Khree Sultan CHoo Sports Stadium) as well as lack of proper indoor stadium it is difficult to continue the spree of excellence by the players. He urged upon the minister to construct a High Tech Sports Stadium with all facility along with the upliftment of Khree Sports Stadium Kargil.
He also informed that recently Sports Ministry allotted funds for the renovation of spots stadium in J and K where Kargil District had been allotted funds of Rs 7.8 crore for the renovation of the indoor stadium but the funds are not been released from the Civil Secretariat. He appealed to the minister to release funds for the upliftment of indoor stadium at the earliest, he added.
Keeping in view the problems being faced by more than 1,500 odd taxi drivers of Kargil as they have no State permit, he requested for allotment of J and K State Taxi Permits to the taxis of Kargil also. He also demanded for special package for flood affected areas of Kargil District.
The minister assured the President BJYM that he will soon release the funds for Indoor Stadium Kargil as well as he will resolve other issues on priority basis including the taxi permit issue, which will be allotted soon.
